David Thomson is Chairman of Thomson Reuters. Prior to assuming this role, Mr. Thomson was Chairman of The Thomson Corporation.
He is also a Chairman of The Woodbridge Company Limited, which is the investment vehicle for the Thomson family and the principal shareholder of Thomson Reuters.
Mr. Thomson began his career in 1979 working in the corporate finance department of a major Canadian investment firm. In 1980, Mr. Thomson joined the Hudson's Bay Company where he later became President of its subsidiaries Zellers and Simpsons. He joined The Woodbridge Company Limited in 1990.
Mr. Thomson received an M.A. in History from Selwyn College, Cambridge.
