Directory is being controlled by another .net user when trying to open Software Assistant

This error can be caused by networked computer having different database paths to one another. Follow these instructions to resolve.
  1. Make sure everyone on the network has logged out of Software Assistant.
  2. Go to Assistant’s Data folder in C:\ProgramData\Software Assistant\Assistant\Data, unless your data is on a network drive.
  3. Find these files: pdoxusrs.net and proxusrs.lck. If found, delete them.
  4. Open Register Assistant by selecting the Windows Start menu and searching for the product.
  5. Select Advanced.
  6. Check that the data directory is correct in the registration form, and then select Configure BDE.
  7. Repeat the above steps on all computers. Be sure all computers have the same data path (the drive letter can be different but the rest of the path to Software Assistant’s data should be identical on all computers).
  8. Open Verify and backup data by selecting the Windows Start menu.
  9. Tick the first 3 boxes only and select Proceed.
  10. And now try running Software Assistant on all computers.
