Add an engagement
Follow these steps to add a new engagement for a client.
Sign in to Engagement Manager, select
Add new engagements
on the
Engagement dashboard
screen.
Select a client, then
Next
.
You can use the filter fields to find a client by name or client number.
Choose an
External integration source
:
Engagement Manager
None
Turn on
Enable Confirmation
if you want to enable integration with Confirmation to set up requests to responders, track their progress, and add them to your workpapers.
Select an
Engagement Source
option:
New
Existing
Template
Select
Next
.
Enter an
Engagement name
and select an
Engagement type
.
Engagement names should be concise, descriptive, and unique. For example, "2019 Year-End Audit".
Don't include the client name in the engagement name.
Select an option for
PIC
and select
Assigned staff
.
Select
Next
.
Select an account structure:
Consolidated
Divisional
Fund
None
Make selections for the following
Reporting Periods
options:
Year end date
Period frequency
Current period
Prior years
Select
Next
.
Tick the checkboxes for the firm account groupings you want to import, then select
Next
.
Select engagement dates for the following:
Beginning
- The first day that an audit is started.
Ending
- The date when work is completed on the audit.
Report release
- The date when the reports from the completed audit are due to the customers.
Completion date
- A projected due date for when an engagement should be completed.
Deletion date
- The date when the firm should delete the engagement. You need to use the engagement status report in the
Setup
,
Reports
screen to review the deletion dates and delete the engagements manually.
note
The completion and deletion dates can be calculated based on the other dates. The calculation will depend on the settings in the
Setup
,
Engagement Types
screen and which engagement type is selected on the current engagement.
GoFileRoom indexing

to add the engagement in Engagement Manager.
