Compare trial balances in Engagement Manager

You can compare trial balances in separate engagements in Engagement Manager using Trial Balance Compare. For example, you may want to view the differences between the trial balance being used for a client’s tax return engagement with the trial balance being used for a client’s audit engagement.
  1. In Engagement Manager, open the engagement.
  2. Select the
    Trial Balance
     tab.
  3. Select
    Data
    , then
    Compare
    .
  4. Select a
    Client
     and an
    Engagement
     for the
    Trial Balance Source
    .
  5. Clear or mark the checkboxes for
    Unadjusted Balances
     and
    Journal Entries
    , then select
    Next
    .
  6. Import trial balance differences
  7. Select
    Import
     if you want to import the differences into the current engagement. You can use this feature to make sure that changes made to the audit trial balance are picked up for the tax engagement.
Example
Both the tax and audit engagement staff have added an entry with a reference of
AJE01
 to their respective engagements. If you import the differences into the tax staff's engagement, Engagement Manager will replace the
AJE01
 entry in the tax staff's engagement.
If the tax staff had used an entry reference of
TJE01
 and the audit staff had used a reference of
AJE01
, Engagement Manager would have kept both entries in the tax staff's engagement.
