About the Workpapers tab

Use the Workpapers tab to manage the workpapers for each engagement.

Add, edit, and view workpapers

The Workpapers tab is laid out in a table that helps you to manage the workpapers for each engagement. If licensed, you can add workpapers to Engagement Manager from the following Sources:
  • Custom Excel
  • Excel
  • External (your networked device)
  • GoFileRoom
  • Scan
  • Template
  • Guided Assurance
View workpapers in Engagement Manager and Check Out workpapers while you edit them.

Manage sign offs

  • Assign workpapers to users.
  • Add a Preparer, Reviewer, Manager, Partner, Quality Assurance sign off.
  • Check the sign offs.

Apply Workpaper Properties

You can apply Roll Forward and Finalize properties for each workpaper.

Organize workpapers with Folders and Notes

  • Use Folders to organize your workpapers. Engagement Manager creates Folders for you according to the template you've used to create your engagement and you can also add and delete folders.
  • Drag and drop to move workpapers into Folders and arrange the order of Folders and workpapers.
  • Rename Folders.
  • Add Notes to explain aspects of workpapers.

Customize the table and view

  • Use
    Show/Hide Columns
    to choose which columns to show.
  • Drag-and-drop columns in the table to re-arrange them.
  • Create and save column filters.
  • Choose
    List View
    to show a list of workpapers without folders.

Create reports about the engagement

  • Create reports from a variety of templates, such as the Account grouping report, Journal Entry report, and Tax Code report.
  • Save reports as Report files or workpapers.
  • Export reports to Excel.
