Reinstate the Early Build watermark to update tax logic for the accounting period in Corporation Tax Advanced

If your file uses the prior year's tax logic but
Update Tax Logic
is not available on the
Data
tab when you open the file after a new version of Corporation Tax Advanced has been released, then it's likely that the Early Build watermark as been removed from this Early Build file. You'll need to reinstate the Early Build watermark to update the tax logic.
  1. Check if last year's taxonomy is used
  2. Select an empty cell in the latest accounting period and enter
    +PACK
    .
    A formula is shown in the cell. This formula includes a number, which is the financial year's taxonomy that's used. If the number earlier than the version of the software, it will be last year's taxonomy and so an Early Build file.
  3. Delete the Pack code from the cell to remove the entry.
  4. Reinstate the Early Build watermark to update the tax logic for the accounting period
  5. For each CT600 currently open:
    1. Right-click the
      CT600_
      xx
      P1 - CT600(20
      xx
      ) Page 1
      tab, select
      Delete Sheet
      , then
      OK.
    2. If there's a
      Sys$Efile
      sheet, right-click the tab and select
      Delete Sheet
      .
  6. Press
    Ctrl+F10
    , then enter the daily password when prompted.
  7. In the
    Expression
    box, enter
    Filesaveastype=early build
  8. Select
    Execute
    , then
    Cancel.
  9. Go to
    Data
    , then
    Tax Logic Update.
  10. Select
    OK
    .
  11. If a message asks if you want to overwrite the file, select
    OK.
  12. Select
    Yes
    to save changes to file name and any linked files.
  13. If there's a
    W_EXCEPTIONS - import exceptions
    schedule, check each item and change the status to
    Yes
    .
  14. Right-click the
    P
    schedule tab and select
    Develop
    , then
    CT600 (20
    xx
    ) return.
  15. Correct any red errors.
  16. Select any question marks next to Data Access errors to correct them.
