Basis period reform

You can now compute your clients' transition profits and the corresponding tax charge for the tax year 2023/24.
We've updated the Help for the
Sole Trade
 and
Partnership Income
 windows to include these new features. We're also releasing resources, including video tutorials and articles in the next few weeks. We'll tell you when these are ready in a later bulletin.
This release doesn't cover the basis period reform in relation to untaxed income for partners. We'll include this feature will be included in the next compliance update, later this quarter.
There are some issues concerning how basis period reform affects the excluded income calculation and remittance basis, and the trading allowance. We'll address these in the next compliance update for Personal Tax.

Download the new release

Go to the Product Downloads page, from where you can download the full Digita suite or only version 24.0 of Personal Tax.

Apply the update

Go to the Installation guides article for help with installing the update. Back up your database using the Digita Database Backup tool before applying the update.
tip
Before you extract the downloaded ZIP file, right-click it, then select
Properties
. Select the
Unblock
 button, if it's present, then continue to extract and install.
  • For standalone installations: Download and apply the update on the workstation where the application is installed.
  • For network server and peer-to-peer installations: Download and apply the update on the machine that acts as the server. After you've updated the server, the auto-node update process will apply the update to each workstation (node) the next time the user signs in to the application.

Digita Virtual Office
