Configuring the Home module

The Home module can be activated by selecting
Admin
>
Site settings
>
Modules
.
Select the
Home
checkbox and select
Save
. The
Home
module is now enabled.
The
Home
module can then be configured by selecting
Admin
>
Module settings
>
Home
.
Set if the page title is displayed. Select
Save
to save your changes.
Select
Home
to display the home module.
The Home module is a single page of the site that typically serves as the site landing page.

Configuring the Home page

Select
Edit
to configure the home page.
The
Edit
home page opens a new window.
The
Home
edit
page consists of a field to add a
Dashboard name
, and buttons to add
Panels
and
Sections
.

To configure the Home module:
  1. Enter a name for the dashboard, which will be displayed near the top of the page. No title is required.
  2. Enter the page content in the main section. (There is a separate guide for using the text editor as well as instructions for embedding other site content).
  3. Select whether all users will have view access to the Home module by default (All), or whether no users will have access by default but access can be granted separately (Restricted). If Restricted permissions are selected, it is possible to give access to the Home module to certain security groups and not others, like any other module. By default, permissions are restricted.
  4. Select
    Save
    to save any changes

Multiple home pages

Site administrators can choose to have multiple home pages on a site.
When you visit a site where you have access to more than one home page, select
Home
to see a list of all available Home pages that you can access (translated to match the user's language, if available).
Adding multiple home pages
To add more home pages, navigate to
Admin
.
Navigate to
Module settings
>
Home
. The
Home
screen opens. Select
Add
to add a new Home page.
The
Add new home page
screen opens.
Give your new home page a name and a tooltip. Click the globe icon to add translations for each item; anyone viewing the site in the entered languages see the translations.
Once you have added your new home pages, select
Save
.
Multiple home pages and site navigation
Once you have set up multiple home pages, they automatically appear in the default site navigation for any users with the permissions to view them. Optionally, you can create custom navigation and link to specific home pages from selected menu items. To set up a menu item, as an administrator, navigate to the site and select
Admin
.
The
Admin
screen opens. Navigate to
Site settings
>
Site navigation
.
The
Site navigation
screen opens.
You have the following options:
Automatic site navigation
Multiple home pages are automatically added to the Home module if you use automatic site navigation. To use automatic site navigation, select
Automatic site navigation
to display the following options.
This area displays the default site navigation and allows you to rename each module. The navigation bar reflects the enabled modules.
To rename a module, select
More actions
next to the module you wish to rename and select
Rename
.
The
Rename
screen opens.
You can rename the module in English, and add names for each language (displayed if the user views the module in that language).
Additionally, you have a
Reset default names
option, which resets the names to the default values.
Once you have renamed the module, select
Save
.
Your changes are
Saved
.

Custom site navigation

Select
Custom site navigation
to display the following options.
In the
Custom site navigation
section, you can create your site navigation. This enables you to rearrange the navigation order, add new menu items and containers or remove modules.
Adding a new menu item
To add a new menu item to the home page, select
Add
.
The
Add menu item
screen opens. In the
Add menu item
screen, select the
Link to
drop-down and select
Home page
.
The following options display.
Click on one of the Home page names to insert a link to that page.
Re-arranging the navigation order
To re-arrange the navigation order, select
Move
next to the module that you wish to move and drag and drop it to the new position.
Once you have re-arranged the order, select
Save
to save your changes.
Deleting a module
To delete a module, select
More actions
for the module and select
Delete
.
The module is removed from this list. Select
Save
to save your changes and to confirm the deletion.
