Events home page

The home page of the Events module contains two separate content areas:
  • In the right panel is a list of Upcoming events, sorted in chronological order, from all of the categories available to the user
  • In the left panel, a list of event categories available to the user and the number of upcoming events in each category. Click on a category to filter the list of events shown in the middle to just ones in that category.

Upcoming Events

The right panel shows a list of upcoming events that match the filter (category or date archive) that has been applied, in chronological order. By default, no filters are applied and all upcoming events are displayed.
Here are some of the features of the upcoming events list:
  • Event title
    - Every event listed includes its title, which, when clicked, takes you to the full event details page
  • Event date/time and location
    - Every event listed includes the date and time of the event and, if included, the location of the event
  • Occurrence
    - If this is a repeating event information about the occurrence will be displayed
  • Event details
    - Every event listed includes the description of the full event. If the description is quite lengthy, the full description will not be displayed here
  • Comments
    - As long as commenting has been enabled for the Events module, the number of comments will be shown for each listed event (the creator of an event can turn off commenting for a particular event). The number of comments is a link to the full event, which will be scrolled down to the comments section
