Overview

HighQ Publisher offers extensive customisation options that allow you to create a superior user experience while maintaining brand consistency. By leveraging a wide range of theming options, including colour schemes, typography, and layout configurations, you can tailor the look and feel of your HighQ Publisher instance to align perfectly with your clients' specific branding requirements. This level of customisation not only enhances brand recognition but also reinforces brand identity by delivering content experiences that seamlessly integrate with your clients' existing branding elements. Ultimately, this results in a unique, visually appealing, and cohesive brand experience that can significantly improve user engagement and satisfaction.
When it comes to theming, you have two choices: you can either customise your own design by modifying the default theme, or you can select from our range of pre-designed, ready-to-use themes. Both options offer flexibility to suit your specific needs and preferences.

Default Theme

Creating a bespoke theme grants you complete control over the design elements. You can thoroughly personalise every aspect using the customisation section, as well as fine-tune the appearance and functionality through direct manipulation of the JavaScript and CSS files.

To begin customising, choose the
Default theme
and then select the 'Edit Theme' option. This will open the theme editor, where you can modify the colour scheme for various sections throughout the system.

Simplifying Client Branding Customisation

With the release of version 5.8.10, we have implemented streamlined colour customisation using new Primary and Secondary colour selectors. These selectors automatically update multiple elements and simplify the user interface by incorporating an accordion feature, which highlights key settings for an immediate visual transformation. Additionally, this update improves user experience by making theme personalisation more intuitive and efficient, reducing the number of required clicks.
Customisation Options
The Basic Customisation interface offers a simplified approach for users who want to easily modify the primary and secondary colours. This feature ensures a cohesive and user-friendly design experience by automatically updating various theme elements.
Primary Colour
When a primary colour (e.g., #404040) is selected, the system will automatically adjust several associated properties. These modifications include but are not limited to the following:
  • Common Links:
    Link colour
  • Common Links:
    Link hover colour
  • Navigation:
    Link hover colour
When a secondary colour is chosen, the system will automatically update various properties including the following:
  • Header:
    Button pills colour
  • Header:
    Border colour
  • Action buttons:
    Background colour
  • Action buttons:
    Border colour
Advanced Customisation
The Advanced Customisation interface provides more granular control for users who require greater flexibility. This option allows for manual adjustments to individual theme properties, offering more comprehensive customisation capabilities.

Alps, Andes, and Atlas Themes

These themes provide an out-of-the-box look and feel, simplifying design requirements and reducing implementation time and costs. Each theme allows for additional customisation of logos, fonts, and colours to align with your brand.
Andes
Andes is a customisable, multipurpose theme that you can use to create an extremely exciting design for your client relationship portal or extranet. It comes with a bold header design and several content block options that can be easily customised. Focus on making a strong impression making sure that your content stands out from the crowd.
The design uses blue and red colours for this striking approach however if these colours do not suit your specific branding scheme a few adjustments to the customisation as well as logos and font changes can quickly adapt the theme to be more suitable to your brand.
Atlas
Atlas is an outstanding creative and flexible, fully customisable theme that is suitable for bringing your client relationship portal or extranet to life with its immersive featured images that will WOW your client’s. With a focus on bold use of colours and icons make navigation simple for your client’s to navigate content easily.
The design uses purple and orange colours for a bold approach however if these colours do not suit your specific branding scheme a few adjustments to the customisation as well as logos and font changes can quickly adapt the theme to be more suitable to your brand.
Alps
The Alps is a crisp and minimal customisable theme. It is perfect for a formal client relationship portal or extranet with its clean and simple approach. It is a Clean and Modern design that will perfectly showcase your content.
The out-of-the-box design uses greys for a simple approach however if these shades of grey colours do not suit your specific branding scheme a few adjustments to the customisation as well as logos and font changes can quickly adapt the theme to be more suitable to your brand.
All themes can be easily adapted to suit specific branding requirements through customisation options, logo changes, and font adjustments.
Managing Themes
To manage a theme, navigate to

in your drop-down menu:

Edit

themes.
Editing Themes
To
Edit
a theme, select
More actions
on the theme you want to edit and select
Edit Theme

The edit screen for the selected theme opens:
You can edit every aspect of the theme, including background colours, title colours, background images, headers, navigation, etc.

Once you have edited your theme, select

to save your changes.
Preview Theme
Preview a theme to view what it looks like before committing to using it. To preview a theme, click

A new tab will open displaying what your instance will look like with the new theme enabled.
Applying a Theme
Apply a theme to enable the selected theme on your instance. To apply a theme, navigate to

Restore Default Theme
Restoring a default theme removes any additional changes you have made to a theme, and restores it to the out-of-the-box version we supply. To restore a default theme, click
