Change start and end dates
This article will help you update the calculation start and end dates using 2 methods: editing at the dataset level and editing at the calculation level.
Method 1: edit at the dataset level
- Go to theCalculation Managementscreen.
- Select the dataset you want to edit.
- SelectEditin the dropdown.noteThis opens the Dataset Properties Wizard.
- Edit the start date and end date in the wizard.
- Keep selectingNextto go through the other steps in the wizard.
- SelectFinishto save and view the updated dataset.noteUpdating dates at the dataset level will automatically update the dates for calculations within the dataset, except for those already updated at the calculation level.
Method 2: edit at calculation level
- Go to theCalculation Managementscreen.
- Select one or more calculations from the same or different datasets that you want to edit.noteWhen editing from the Calculation Management screen, you can update the calculations you've created using the same template family in bulk.
- SelectActions, thenMorefor any one of the selected calculations.
- SelectChange Start and End Datesfrom the dropdown.
- A window will appear for editing the start and end dates.noteThe tax year is automatically calculated based on the dates you select.
- The updated tax year is only applied to calculations if the template configuration permits overriding the tax year and you opt to update it. TheUpdate Tax Year?checkbox is turned on or turned off based on the template configuration, and the updated tax year is applied when you select this checkbox.
- SelectOKto update the changes.

- To use this feature, you must turn ON theShow calculation start and end datessetting in .
- Changes to the start and end dates of a calculation are recorded as events in the calculation history.
- Updating start and end dates isn't possible for read-only or deleted calculations, or for calculations where the template configuration doesn't give date overrides.
- This feature is also enabled via APIs (Edit Dataset end point).
