Edit declarations
ONESOURCE Fringe Benefits Tax comes with standard declarations you can use provided or modify (depending on your license). Declarations are documents that confirm that an employee has been provided with a particular benefit, that a deduction is available for this benefit, or to provide evidence of an election or other choice or action.
Edit a declaration
To edit a declaration, complete the following steps.
- SelectAdministration, thenDeclarationson the navigation toolbar.
- Select a declaration.
- On the toolbar, selectCopy.tipYou can't edit a default declaration, so you'll need to copy it and then edit the copy.
- Select the copied declaration.
- SelectEdit.
- The declaration can be modified in a number of ways. You can:
- Name the declaration.
- Format text.
- Add images. Accepted formats are PNG, BMP, or JPG images.
- Add merge fields from the Employee workpaper.
noteText pasted directly from Microsoft Word may not retain the original formatting.
Add an image
Accepted image formats are PNG, BMP, or JPG images. The maximum image file size is 128kb.
Follow these steps:
- Click into the declaration where you want the image to appear.
- Select the image icon.
- Drop an image into the area or click to browse to the image file.
- Select your image and then selectOpen.
- Once the image is added it can be edited.
LAFHA declarations
There are additional merge fields available for LAFHA declarations. Note, the LAFHA declarations link to the Employee and LAFHA workpapers.
- Description
- Start Date
- End date
Vehicle declarations
There are additional merge fields available in the following vehicle declarations that flow from the Vehicle workpaper for cars listed in the workpaper.
- Declaration of Work Related Car Travel
- Fuel Expenses Declaration
- Odometer Reading Declaration
The following fields can be added to a standard vehicle declaration:
- Registration Number
- Description
- Acquisition Date
- Disposal Date
- Purchase Type
- Base Value with GST
- Opening Kilometres
- Closing Kilometres
- Engine Capacity
- Logbook Year

The employee's car declaration is used for loan, expense payment, property, or residual fringe benefits and does not have vehicle merge fields.
