ONESOURCE Fringe Benefit Tax lets you create multiple reporting entities and reporting groups for each organisation. After you create a new organisation you must create a new reporting entity.
An FBT return is generated for a reporting entity or reporting group, not for an organisation. This means an organisation must have at least one reporting entity to produce an FBT return. Organisations may contain one or more reporting entities that can produce one or more FBT returns. This is controlled by your licence. All benefits must be associated to a reporting entity (the FBT payer) and cannot be split across reporting entities.
If the reporting entity is eligible for an FBT exemption or rebate, or you are an income tax-exempt body, you can set your concessional treatment when the reporting entity is created, or edit the entity's details later.
Certain government bodies may consolidate different entity types on the ATO return. If your reporting group has member entities with different exemption statuses, each entity can be set individually.
You can't have a combination of different exempt or rebatable entities in the same reporting group.

Select
Administration
, then

in the navigation bar.
Select

Editing Reporting Entity
screen opens. You'll assign any concession or employer type elections on this page.
Complete the fields in the
Reporting Entity Details
section.
Enter the name of the reporting entity in the
Name
field (73 characters maximum.) This should be the name of the legal entity submitting the FBT Return to the ATO, but can be a business unit/division name.
In the
Code
field, enter a code for the reporting entity. This must be an alpha-numeric value up to 20 characters and cannot contain any special characters, such as @#. It is suggested that you use a meaningful internal identifier for the reporting entity code to make it easier to remember.
If you're uploading data from spreadsheets, a reporting entity code is required to ensure data is uploaded to the correct reporting entity.
Use the
Status
field and select an option to select the status.
If this reporting entity is to be a reporting group for the purposes of consolidating data from multiple reporting entities, select
Yes
in the
Is this a Group?
field.
Use the plus sign to expand the remaining collapsible sections and complete the information for the reporting entity as applicable.
To define the applicable capping threshold or rebate status for a rebatable employer, complete the fields in the
Concessional FBT Treatment
section.
To define the entertainment benefits calculation method, use the dropdowns in the
Calculation Method
section. All entertainment benefits on an ATO FBT return must be calculated using the same method. This setting can be changed at any time and will automatically recalculate all entertainment benefits to the setting in the reporting group.
