Change start and end dates

This article will help you update the calculation start and end dates using 2 methods: editing at the dataset level and editing at the calculation level.

Method 1: edit at the dataset level

  1. Go to the
    Calculation Management
    screen.
  2. Select the dataset you want to edit.
  3. Select
    Edit
    in the dropdown.
    note
This opens the Dataset Properties Wizard.
  4. Edit the start date and end date in the wizard.
  5. Keep selecting
    Next
to go through the other steps in the wizard.
  6. Select
    Finish
to save and view the updated dataset.
    note
Updating dates at the dataset level will automatically update the dates for calculations within the dataset, except for those already updated at the calculation level.

Method 2: edit at calculation level

  1. Go to the
    Calculation Management
    screen.
  2. Select one or more calculations from the same or different datasets that you want to edit.
    note
When editing from the Calculation Management screen, you can update the calculations you've created using the same template family in bulk.
  3. Select
    Actions
    , then
    More
for any one of the selected calculations.
  4. Select
    Change Start and End Dates
    from the dropdown.
  5. A window will appear for editing the start and end dates.
    note
The tax year is automatically calculated based on the dates you select.
  6. The updated tax year is only applied to calculations if the template configuration permits overriding the tax year and you opt to update it. The
    Update Tax Year?
checkbox is turned on or turned off based on the template configuration, and the updated tax year is applied when you select this checkbox.
  7. Select
    OK
    to update the changes.
note
  • To use this feature, you must turn ON the
Show calculation start and end dates
    setting in
    Administration
    Settings
    .
  • Changes to the start and end dates of a calculation are recorded as events in the calculation history.
  • Updating start and end dates isn't possible for read-only or deleted calculations, or for calculations where the template configuration doesn't give date overrides.
  • This feature is also enabled via APIs (Edit Dataset end point).
