Add, edit, or delete a chart of accounts

Add a chart of accounts

  1. On the main menu bar, select
    Configuration
    , then
    Chart of Accounts
    .
  2. Select
    Add
     on the toolbar.
  3. Enter a name in the
    Name
     field. The name should reflect the name of the accounting system to which the chart of accounts relates. For example, SAP Chart of Accounts.
  4. Select the reporting year the chart of accounts relates to from the
    Year
     dropdown list.
  5. Select
    OK
     to save. To cancel without saving changes, select
    CANCEL
    , then select
    OK
    .

Copy a chart of accounts

You can create a chart of accounts by copying an existing chart of accounts. When you copy a chart of accounts, you can save it to the same year or to a new year, which effectively rolls forward the chart of accounts.
tip
Another option is to roll forward a dataset.
  1. Select
    Configuration
    , then
    Chart of Accounts
     from the main menu bar.
  2. In the Actions column, select the copy icon for the row that includes the chart of accounts you want to copy.
  3. In the Name field, highlight the sample name and then enter the name for the new chart of accounts. The name should reflect the name of the accounting system to which the chart of accounts relates. For example, SAP Chart of Accounts.
  4. Select the reporting year for the new chart of accounts from the
    Year
     dropdown list.
  5. Click
    OK
     to save. To cancel without saving changes, select
    CANCEL
     then
    OK
    .

Edit a chart of accounts

To edit a chart of accounts:
  1. On the main menu bar, select
    Configuration
    , then
    Chart of Accounts
    .
  2. In the Actions column, select the edit icon next to the account you want to edit.
  3. Change the information as necessary.
  4. Select
    OK
     to save. To cancel without saving changes, select
    CANCEL
    , then select
    OK
    .

Delete a chart of accounts

To delete a chart of accounts:
  1. Make sure the chart of accounts you want to delete is not included in a map.
  2. On the main menu bar, select
    Configuration
    , then
    Chart of Accounts
    .
  3. In the Actions column, select the delete icon on the row that includes the chart of accounts you want to delete.
  4. Select
    Delete
     to confirm deleting the chart of accounts. Select
    Cancel
     to return to the grid without deleting the chart of accounts.
