iManage on-premise connector

Follow these steps to connect iManage (on-premise) and CoCounsel. You can also watch a video walkthrough for detailed guidance.

Add application in iManage control center (on-premise)

Follow these steps to add the application in iManage Control Center.
  1. Sign in to the
    iManage server
    , and go to the
    Control Center
    .
  2. From the navigation bar, select
    Settings
    , then
    Applications
    .
  3. Select
    Add Application
    .
  4. Select
    Configure Manually
    .
  5. In the configuration screen, provide the following details.
    • Name:
      Enter a name to identify this application, such as CoCounsel.
    • Client ID:
      iManage uses this for authentication. You can use any name such as CoCounsel. This name is important. You will use it in following steps.
    • Client Secret:
      Auto Generate one using the auto generate option. Save it. You will use it in following steps.
  6. Select
    Authentication
    to continue.
  7. Update the redirect URL.

    To find the redirect URL, go to
    CoCounsel Application
    Admin settings
    Integrations
    DMS integrations via Syncly
    Get your redirect URL and view setup info
    .
  8. Enable
    Allow refresh token
    .
  9. Don't change other default options.
  10. Select
    Access
    to continue.
  11. Select who can authenticate the iManage Connector from CoCounsel. Select
    All users
    to let everyone with CoCounsel access authenticate, or
    Custom
    to specify certain people.
  12. Select
    Review
    . Switch the
    Enable Application
    option to
    Yes
    .
  13. Select
    Finish
    .

Add the iManage cloud connector (on-premise)

  1. Be sure you are signed in to the application as an administrator.
  2. Go to
    Admin settings
    Integrations
    .
  3. Select
    New connection
    .
  4. Select iManage as your
    Connector
    .
  5. Fill in the following fields:
    • Name:
      Enter a name to identify the instance, such as iManage Sandbox.
    • Client Id:
      This is a randomly generated string by iManage, listed in the application's record from step 1.
    • Secret Key:
      Copy and paste the random string from the previous step.
    • Scope:
      Enter
      User
      .
    • Refresh Token:
      Leave as the default.
    • Server Address:
      Enter the URL for your instance of iManage.
  6. Select
    Add connector
    . The connector is added with an active state.
    When you add the connector, it's available for all other people to view in their list of external Document Management System (DMS) connections. Every individual runs through the authorization process the 1st time they sign in.
    note
    We recommend administrators authorizing as soon as you add the connector. This way, you can test the connection before other people begin using it.
