Audio recorder dialog

Use this dialog to record, import, or export audio annotations.
note
  • Verify that a microphone or other audio source is connected to your computer prior to recording an annotation.
  • Files that you import for use as audio annotations must be in the WAV format.
This dialog opens when you record an audio annotation, or when you double-click an audio annotation Audio annotation icon shows a megaphone with sound waves coming from it icon in a document.
You can move the audio-annotation icon by clicking and dragging it. You can resize the icon by clicking it and then clicking and dragging the handles that appear around the edge of the icon.
You can set audio properties for new annotations in the Audio Annotation Properties tab.

Fields & buttons

Wave display
Displays the sound wave during playback.
Slider
Click and drag the slider to move to a different position in a recorded annotation.
Go to beginning
Click this button to return to the beginning of the annotation.
Go to end
Click this button to move to the end of the annotation.
Play
Click this button to play the annotation from the current position of the slider.
Stop
Click this button to stop playback. Click the Play or Record buttons to resume your previous action from the same point, or click the Go to beginning button to return to the beginning of the annotation.
Record
Click this button to start recording.
