DT Connect Background Services

You can use DT Connect Background Services to keep DT FileCabinet updated and to transmit certain documents to DT NetClient. In addition, you can determine who has access to DT Connect Background Services.

Updates

By default, the
Enable background services
checkbox is marked to apply pending updates at 3 a.m. eastern time. However, you can apply updates at any time. To change the default settings, choose Setup > System Configuration, and then click the DT Connect + Misc tab.

  • Verify that all other users have closed DT FileCabinet, all other DT Professional Suite applications, and all Microsoft Office applications, and the computer you use to apply updates is logged in to the network.
  • To retrieve and update licenses, you must call or schedule an unattended call to our secure data centres.
  • When DT Connect Background Services is enabled, a DT Connect icon displays in the Windows taskbar notification area.

DT NetClient Documents

If you are licensed for DT NetFirm, you can enable automatic transmittal of documents to DT NetClient. DT Connect Background Services will scan for drawers with a status of Changed or Forced and will automatically transmit updated documents to DT NetClient.

Access to DT Connect Background Services

By default, all computers on the network are allowed to run background services. To limit this option to only the computer you are using, choose Setup > System Configuration, click the DT Connect + Misc tab, and then select the
Only this computer
option.
