Identifying and resolving DT Connect errors

Errors while connecting to our secure data centres via DT Connect

The computer you were dialing has disconnected.
Try again.
You do not have any RAS capable devices (modems, etc.). Unable to set up the Dial-Up Networking entry.
If you are using a dial-up modem, verify that your modem is set up correctly.
  • In Windows 10:
    To do so, right-click the Start button, click Control Panel, and then click Phone and Modem. If you don't see the Phone and Modem option, change the View by selection to Small icons or Large icons.
  • In Window 8:
    To do so, right-click on the Start screen, click All apps, click Control Panel under Windows Systems, and then click Phone and Modem. If you don't see the Phone and Modem option, change the View by selection to Small icons or Large icons.
  • In Windows 7:
    To do so, click Start on the Windows taskbar, click Control Panel, and click Phone and Modem. If you don't see the Phone and Modem option, change the View by selection to Small icons or Large icons.
If you are using a connection other than a modem, click OK to open the DT Connect - Communications Setup dialog and select the appropriate connection type.
DT Connect is not receiving a response from your modem.
If you are using an external modem, verify that it is turned on.
  • In Windows 10:
    If you are using an internal modem, right-click the Start button, click Control Panel and review any network settings. Select Troubleshooting for more information.
  • In Windows 8:
    If you are using an internal modem, right-click on the Start screen and click All apps. Then, click Control Panel under Windows Systems and review the settings. Select Troubleshooting for more information.
  • In Windows 7:
    If you are using an internal modem, click Start on the Windows taskbar, click Control Panel, and review the settings. Select Troubleshooting for more information.
Unable to add DT Connect to DUN.
Click OK to open the DT Connect - Communications Setup dialog and select the appropriate connection type.
Unable to decrypt incoming file.
Delete and reinstall the updates.
Another program is dialing the selected connection.
Reboot your computer and/or server.
Unable to establish connection with our secure data centres.
Verify that your computer is connected to the internet.

Errors after connecting to our secure data centres via DT Connect

Your DT Connect account has been disabled. Please contact your DT account representative.
Call DT Support at 01395 280 200.
Unable to retrieve update list from our secure data centres.
Wait a few minutes, then try again. If you receive this message after the second try, call DT Support at 01395 280 200.
The computer you were dialling has disconnected.
Try again.
Unable to decrypt incoming file.
Delete and reinstall the updates.
