System Configuration / DT Connect + Misc tab

Use this tab to perform the following tasks.
- Configure DT Connect Background Services to have DT Connect automatically check for updates, apply updates at a specified time, automatically transmit documents with a status of Changed or Forced to DT NetClient, and determine if only this computer or all computers running a network version of DT FileCabinet should be allowed to run DT Connect background services.
- Specify a limit in the Event history section for the number of events displayed in the Event History for each drawer. DT FileCabinet displays these events under Event History in the Watch window.
- In the Document sorting options section, configure DT FileCabinet to treat numbers in dates that are formatted as MM/YY as MM/DD, when sorting documents.
- Specify the default font type and size for all drawer and page notes within DT FileCabinet in the Drawer / page note defaults section.
To open this tab, choose Setup > System Configuration and click the DT Connect + Misc tab.

This tab is not available if your security configuration is set to restrict access to the System Configuration dialog and you did not enter the master password in the Security tab.
Fields & buttons
DT Connect Background Services options
Enable background services
Mark this checkbox to enable DT Connect background services and to have DT Connect check for DT FileCabinet updates.
Enable automatic transmission to DT NetClient
If you are licensed for DT NetFirm, mark this checkbox to have DT Connect check every ten minutes for all DT NetClient contributors that have documents with a status of "Changed" or "Forced" and transmit the documents to DT NetClient.

Advanced security features related to transmitting files to DT NetClient, such as the DT NetClient Functions privilege, will be ignored when this checkbox is marked.
Apply updates every day at <specified time>
Mark this option to apply updates automatically. All users must exit DT FileCabinet and all Microsoft Office applications, and at least one authorized user's Windows profile must remain logged in to the network.
Which computers are allowed to run background services?
Select which other (all computers on the network, or just this one) computers are authorized to run DT Connect background services. When a specific computer is chosen on the network, other DT FileCabinet users on that network will see an "Only <comp name> computer" option.
Event history
Limit size of log to <n> most recent events
Enter a number in this field to specify a limit for the number of events logged for each drawer. The minimum number allowed in this field is 100. The default event limit is 1000.
Document sorting options
Treat NN/NN as MM/DD instead of MM/YY when sorting documents
By default, this option is not marked and documents will be sorted by month, then by year (MM/YY). Mark this option to have documents sorted by month, then by day (MM/DD).

Choose a default font for all drawer and page notes.

Choose the desired default font size for all drawer and page notes.
