Getting started with DT Firm Portal
This topic presents an outline of the steps to follow to Customize the appearance of portals, to enable your staff and your clients to access their portals, and to set up client portals and staff portals.

The information in this topic applies only to DT Staff Portal users who have access to DT Firm Portal administration. If you do not see an Admin tab in the navigation pane, you cannot perform the tasks outlined in this topic.
Initial DT Firm Portal administration tasks
Before you begin setting up client portals and staff portals, you need to Customize the appearance of portals and enable clients to access portals. You might also want to create a DT Client Portal demonstration portal that you can use to introduce your clients to DT Client Portal and to train your staff.
- Set the default language for your firm.
- Customize the portal login screen.
- Customize the appearance of client portals and staff portals.
- Add a DT Client Portal demonstration portal.
- Enable users to link portals.
Setting up client portals
- Determine which DT Client Portal modules are appropriate for your clients.
- Add client portals.
- Optional:Designate the appropriate client portals as private portals. Only your firm’s primary DT Firm Portal administrator can view private client portals through DT Firm Portal administration.noteThe primary DT Firm Portal administrator is the person who was designated as your firm's DT Firm Portal administrator on the purchase agreement.
- Optional:Add DT Client Portal groups to give groups of users access to DT Client Portal modules.
- Modify each DT Client Portal user’s access to modules.
Setting up staff portals
- Determine which DT Staff Portal modules are appropriate for your staff.
- Add staff portals.
- Optional:Add DT Staff Portal groups to give groups of users access to DT Staff Portal modules.
- Modify each DT Staff Portal user’s access to modules.
- Give administrative privileges to DT Staff Portal users.
