You can edit period dates, period frequency, and the current period on the Periods page. You can make these changes even if account information has already been entered or if there has been other account activity in Onvio.
For firms, select
Setup
,
Firm Settings
, then the
Periods
page.
For a client or contact:
select
Setup
, then
Clients
or
All Contacts
From Onvio Trial Balance, select the
Settings
tab and then
Edit Contact
.
select
Edit
next to their name, then the
Periods
page.
Select
Edit accounting period
for a client or contact, or
Edit firm period
for a firm.
Select a new
Period frequency
, update the period dates, then select
Next
.
Select
Map to
and map existing account balances and adjustments to the new period.
Select
Done
to save your changes.
Repeat these steps if you need to make further changes.

Changes to the period and period frequency are updated elsewhere in Onvio, including drop-down lists with periods, transactions, and the Workpaper reference column of the Trial Balance screen.
You can edit only one fiscal year at a timeunless you access the Edit Contact screen from Onvio Trial Balance.
You can edit multiple years at the same time as long as those years don't have any activity.
Fiscal year dates will update if a year beginning or ending date is updated on a single year.
The
Tax year
field will show all tax years available within a given fiscal year. Tax years can only be assigned to a single fiscal year.
Changes for the selected fiscal year don't affect other years set up for the contact.
