Global security configurations for passwords in GoFileRoom

If you're a GoFileRoom administrator, you can apply global settings for passwords.
  • Minimum Password Length
    : Enter a minimum length between 8 and 255 characters for a new password.
  • Maximum Password Length
    : Enter the maximum length you want for a new password.
  • Minimum Password Strength
    : This setting is read-only. All passwords will need to include uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols.
  • Maximum Repeated Characters
    • Choose
      No Restriction
       to let people have any number of repeated characters in their passwords.
    • Choose a number from

      8
       to restrict the number of characters that a person can repeat in their password.
  • Maximum Sequential Characters
    • Choose
      No Restriction
       to let people have any number of consecutive characters in their passwords.
    • Choose a number from

      8
       to restrict the number of consecutive characters.

    For example, if you choose

  • Maximum Similarity to Login or Full Name
    • Choose
      No Restriction
       to let people have any number of sequential characters that are similar to their sign-in or full name.
    • Choose a number from

       to restrict the number of similar characters.
  • Forbidden Password Words
    • Enter words or a character sequence that you don't want to let people use in their passwords.
    • GoFileRoom shows restricted words in the Forbidden Password Words list.
    • Select a word in the Forbidden Password Words list to update or remove it.
    • Use
      Clear All
       to clear all words from the Forbidden Password Words list.

    Restricted words are not case-sensitive.
  • Permitted File Types
    • Your firm can contact Support to enable
      Permitted File Types

    • Add file types to control which types of file can be added to GoFileRoom.
    • Select a word in the list to update or remove it.
  • Maximum Password Age
    : The default is 90 days. This means that everyone will need to reset their password at least every 90 days.
  • SSO URL
    : Enter the address for the Single Sign On authentication server.
  • Use Remember Me Login Cookie
    : Have a cookie on the GoFileRoom sign-in screen remember a person's username and password.
  • Idle Session Timeout Minutes
    : Choose the maximum time, from 30 to180 minutes, that a person's session will remain open without activity.
  • Lockout Threshold
    : Choose a number of attempts to sign in, from 3 to 10, after which GoFileRoom will lock a person's account.
  • Bot Detection
    • Choose a
      Bot Detection
       method for the GoFileRoom sign-in screen.
