Manually register Microsoft files

You might need to re-register the Microsoft Common Control ActiveX controls if you use Microsoft Edge to view GoFileRoom. If your computer has Microsoft User Account Control (UAC) turned on, you'll need to turn it off then restart your computer to allow you to re-register ActiveX controls. If you need to register the controls without turning off UAC, follow the steps below.
  1. Select the Start menu.
  2. Enter
    cmd
    then right-click the
    Command Prompt
    app and choose
    Run as Administrator
    .
  3. Enter
    regsvr32
and the file location for a file to be registered, then press
    Enter
    on your keyboard.
    note
The file location depends on your operating system version:
    • 32-bit Windows location:
      C:\Windows\System32\[file name]
    • 64-bit Windows location:
      C:\Windows\SysWOW64\[file name]
  4. Repeat the previous step for each file you need to register.
  5. Restart the workstation, then select View Browser Requirements from the GoFileRoom login page.
  6. If the View Browser Requirements shows no ActiveX controls, replace the
    mscomctl.ocx
file on your machine with a copy from a working machine. Then follow the steps above to register it.
