Record a fair value adjustment on investment property through profit and loss account in Accounts Production Advanced
Under FRS 102, the fair value adjustment on investment assets is recorded in the profit and loss account. To record this you will need to post to code 418.00. If you do not have this code on your nominal code list, then you'll need to create a new code and assign it to the Fair value adjustment category before you can post a value.
- SelectFinancial period,Configuration, thenAccounts.
- SelectNew.
- In the Edit Account dialog, enter code418.00and enterFair value adjustment on investmentin bothNameandExternal namefields.
- SelectOK,thenOKagain.
- Select theImport/Account Assignmenttab, thenAccount Assignment (Master) Maintenance.
- SelectDisplayand mark theDisplay Category CodeandCollapsecheckboxes.
- Expand theBalancecategory as follows:Profit, thenPBT, thenP 8, andP 8 3.
- Drag and drop the 418.00 code to theP 8 3 - Gain/loss on financial assetsfolder.
- SelectApply.
- SelectiXBRL detailed P&L account format 1from theCategory Structuredropdown list.
- Expand theiXBRL DPL profit for the period,iXBRL DPL profit on ordinary activities before tax, theniXBRL DPL profit on ordinary activities before finance charges and interestfolders.
- Click and drag the code 418.00 to the folderiXBRL DPL F2 gain(loss) from fair value adjustment, investment property recognised in profit or loss - iXBRL DPL F2 gain.
- SelectOK.
You should now be able to post the profit and loss side of the fair value adjustment for investments in a journal with code 418.00.
