Error: Nullable object must have a value

Scenario

You may get the following error message when linking entities in a group.

Nullable object must have a value

Cause

This error is caused when there are duplicate codes in the entity added to the group within its entity structure.

Solution

  1. Open the subsidiary that you want to add to the group.
  2. On the
    Summary
     tab, select
    Entity structure
    .
  3. In the
    Entity Structure
     folders pane:
    1. Select the folder icon that has the client's name, and make a note of the
      Code
      .
    2. Under the folder with the client's name, select the document with a page icon.
    3. If the
      Code
       for this document is the same as the
      Code
       you noted for the folder, add
      .1
       to the end of the document
      Code
      .
      note
      For example, if the folder
      Code
       was
      FOT
       and the document
      Code
       was also
      FOT
      , then you would need to change the document
      Code
       to
      FOT.1
      .
