Legislative changes for the year ending 31 August 2024.
Recommended guidance from the Education and Skills Funding Agency's Academies Accounts Direction.

Legislative changes

There's now no requirement to describe the board's oversight on the Governance Meetings window if there are fewer than 6 meetings per year.
The
Governance statement
no longer refers to "Financial" and now refers to the system of internal control.
The
Governance review
no longer refers to Covid-19.
The
Governance statement
includes a new paragraph to report on the adequacy and effectiveness of governance, risk management, and control.
We've changed the Pension note dates from 2016 to 2019, 2020, and 2022 for the latest actuarial valuations. The Teachers Pension Scheme refers to the period ending 31 March 2020. The Local Government Pension Scheme refers to the period ending 31 March 2022.
The Local Government Pension note has a new data entry window to report on scheme assets and whether there are sufficient assets to cover future obligations.

Other features

We've renamed the 'Funding for the academy trust’s educational operations' note to ‘Funding for the academy trust’s charitable activities’. This reflects the Education and Skills Funding Agency's Model Academies model accounts.
Staff costs and benefits note: we've added a new row to the
Other employee benefits
table in on the
Staff costs and numbers
  window on the
Disclosures
tab. The application will show this in the staff note.
We've renamed the
Auditors report
folder in the report structure tree to remove 'post June 2016’.
