Change the column headings in reports

  1. To change the column header in a set of accounts, follow these steps:
  2. Run the report in
    Design
    mode.
  3. Double-click on the table with the column header you want to change.
  4. In the Design Smart Table, right-click on the column header you want to change, then select
    Edit Column
    from the context menu.
  5. In the Edit Value column window, select the
    Column heading
    ellipsis button.
  6. In the new window, overwrite any text as needed.
  7. If the text is in black you can overtype it. If the text is grey or blue, you can right-click it and select
    Remove Condition
    or
    Remove Data
    from the context menu.
  8. Enter the text needed, then select
    OK
on all the windows to return to the report and update it.
    tip
If you've previously tried to change the column header in your accounts incorrectly, you may get an 'error in expression' in the total column of the table. If this is the case, take the following steps:
    1. Right-click on the table, then select
      Highlight in Report Structure
      from the context menu.
    2. Right-click on the highlighted element (which should be in bold), and select
      Revert To Template
      from the context menu.
