Use Additional Disclosures to add a Custom Table
You can use Additional Disclosures to create a Custom Table, which you can then add to a note in your report. The Standard Table available in Additional disclosures is used when you need to show the current period and up to 4 prior period values.
- Take the following steps to use Additional Disclosures to create a custom table:noteYou can also follow these steps in our video: Create a custom table.
- Select theAdditional Disclosuretab, thenItem 1.
- Select theCustom Tabletab, thenNew.
- Select any part of theNew Rowtext underDescription, then enter your disclosure text.
- SelectColumn,New, thenNew Value Column.
- Enter figures into your new column.importantIf you add more than one column, make sure the column names and identifiers are different.

- Open the report inDesignmode.
- On theReport Structuretab, select the note you want to add to.
- Right-click the note folder and selectInsert Newfrom the context menu.
- SelectUK_EU Style Elements,Tables, thenBalance sheet.
- SelectOKto insert the element into the report.
- In theReport Structure, right-clickBalance sheet, then selectViewfrom the context menu.
- On the report, double-click on the table you have created.
- If the comparative column has the wrong date, follow the steps in help topic: Error: 2013 period is wrong in a report in Accounts Production Advanced.
- Point your cursor on the table and double-click the dotted-line box that is shown to open theEdit Sectionwindow.Example

- Select theFinancial Period Datatab.
- ExpandAdditional Disclosures,Additional Disclosure 1–10, thenItem 1(or the other Item number you are using).
- SelectCompany, thenAdd.
- On the report, right-click theCompanyand selectBreakdown,Rows, thenOK.
- Make sure that theShow Section BreakdownandShow Section Totalcheckboxes are both marked.
- SelectOKin theEdit Sectionwindow.This updates the table on the report. The values for all the columns are grouped into theCurrent periodcolumn.
- Take the following steps to resolve the problem of values for all columns being grouped in one.
- Double-click the2016column heading.
- Select theFinancial Period Datatab.
- Select the first column and selectAdd, thenOK.
- If you want to rename the column, follow the steps in the help topic: Change the Column Headings in Accounts Production Advanced.
- Repeat the steps above for each column in the custom table and in the prior column remember to change the filter fromPriortoCurrent.
noteIf there are more than two columns, you'll need to create new columns in the Design Smart Table. Point your cursor at the Table and selectInsert, thenInsert Value Column. Next, follow the steps above to apply the column to the Table. - To finish, selectOKin all windows to save the changes and update the accounts.
