Error: HMRC Filing Rejections Related to Marginal Relief Calculations

Scenario

You may get the following error message when you submit to HMRC, indicating a mismatch in marginal relief figures.

The submission of this document has failed due to departmental specific business logic in the Body tag. Entry must agree with the result of the computation of marginal relief (please contact your software supplier)

Causes

A discrepancy between marginal relief computed by our software and HMRC’s calculation.
Affected periods:
 Accounting periods that include a leap year or begin on 01/03/2024 and end on 28/02/2025.
Impact:
 Not all clients are affected. Submissions with correct marginal relief proceed as normal; those with discrepancies are blocked by HMRC.

  2. In your
    Corporation Tax
    :
    • Open the
      Corporation Tax Chargeable
       schedule.
    • If the figure differs from our software's calculation, replace it with HMRC's calculated marginal relief amount.
  3. Submit your return.
