System Configuration / Digita Connect + Misc tab

Use this tab to perform the following tasks.
  • Configure Digita Connect Background Services to have Digita Connect automatically check for updates, apply updates at a specified time, automatically transmit documents with a status of Changed or Forced to Digita NetClient, and determine if only this computer or all computers running a network version of Digita FileCabinet should be allowed to run Digita Connect background services.
  • Specify a limit in the Event history section for the number of events displayed in the Event History for each drawer. Digita FileCabinet displays these events under Event History in the Watch window.
  • In the Document sorting options section, configure Digita FileCabinet to treat numbers in dates that are formatted as MM/YY as MM/DD, when sorting documents.
  • Specify the default font type and size for all drawer and page notes within Digita FileCabinet in the Drawer / page note defaults section.
To open this tab, choose Setup > System Configuration and click the Digita Connect + Misc tab.

This tab is not available if your security configuration is set to restrict access to the System Configuration dialog and you did not enter the master password in the Security tab.

Fields & buttons

Digita Connect Background Services options
Enable background services
Mark this checkbox to enable Digita Connect background services and to have Digita Connect check for Digita FileCabinet updates.
Enable automatic transmission to Digita NetClient
If you are licensed for Digita NetFirm, mark this checkbox to have Digita Connect check every ten minutes for all Digita NetClient contributors that have documents with a status of "Changed" or "Forced" and transmit the documents to Digita NetClient.

Advanced security features related to transmitting files to Digita NetClient, such as the Digita NetClient Functions privilege, will be ignored when this checkbox is marked.
Apply updates every day at <specified time>
Mark this option to apply updates automatically. All users must exit Digita FileCabinet and all Microsoft Office applications, and at least one authorized user's Windows profile must remain logged in to the network.
Which computers are allowed to run background services?
Select which other (all computers on the network, or just this one) computers are authorized to run Digita Connect background services. When a specific computer is chosen on the network, other Digita FileCabinet users on that network will see an "Only <comp name> computer" option.
Event history
Limit size of log to <n> most recent events
Enter a number in this field to specify a limit for the number of events logged for each drawer. The minimum number allowed in this field is 100. The default event limit is 1000.
Document sorting options
Treat NN/NN as MM/DD instead of MM/YY when sorting documents
By default, this option is not marked and documents will be sorted by month, then by year (MM/YY). Mark this option to have documents sorted by month, then by day (MM/DD).

Drawer / page note defaults
Font type
Choose a default font for all drawer and page notes.
Font size
Choose the desired default font size for all drawer and page notes.
