Error: cannot import client accounts data from Accounts Production to Personal Tax
Scenario
You may find that you're unable to import client accounts data from Accounts Production to Personal, Business and Trust Tax.
Solution: if the Integration button is red or grey in Accounts Production Advanced
- Close the client.
- Select theIntegrationbutton, thenShare Clients.
- Mark the checkbox next to the client, then selectOK.
- Follow the steps of the Share Clients wizard.
- If the Resolve Potential Matches dialog is shown, mark the appropriate checkboxes to match clients, then selectOK.
- SelectClose.
When you next open the client in Accounts Production Advanced, the
Integration
button should be green. Solution 2: if the Integration button is red or grey in Personal, Business and Trust Tax
- Close all clients.
- SelectFile, thenShare clients.
Solution 3: if the Integration button is green but the import failed
- Open the client in Accounts Production Advanced.
- On theSummarytab, make a note of the Start Date and End Date of the Accounting Periods.
- Open the client in Personal, Business and Trust Tax.
- In the Information Explorer pane, expand the folders to view the contents of the Accounts folder.
- Check that the accounting period dates match those you noted in Accounts Production Advanced.
Solution 4: Deal with duplicate clients in Practice Management
- Open the client in Accounts Production Advanced.
- Under the Client Details heading, select theGenerallink.
- SelectEdit.noteThe linked client record is shown in Practice Management.
- Make a note of theClient code, then selectSave and Close.
- Open the client in Personal, Business and Trust Tax.
- In the Client Summary section, select theClient Detailslink.
- SelectEdit.noteThe linked client record is shown in Practice Management.
- Check that the client code is the same as the one you noted in step 4.
- Take the following steps if you find more than one record in Practice Management for the same client:
- Open Practice Management.
- Right-click on one of the duplicate records for the client and selectDeletefrom the context menu.
- Open Accounts Production Advanced.
- Select theIntegrationbutton, thenShare Clients.
- Follow the steps of the Share Clients wizard.
- In the Resolve Potential Matches dialog, mark the appropriate checkboxes to match the client details (do not create a new client).
Solution 5: check Integration has links correctly to the sole trade and proprietor
For sole trade clients, the Accounts Production Advanced record should link to the sole trade in Practice Management while the Personal, Business and Trust Tax record should link to the proprietor. You can check this by carrying out the following steps.
- Open the sole trade in Accounts Production Advanced.
- Select theGenerallink.
- SelectEdit.noteThe linked client record is shown in Practice Management.
- Select the proprietor's name link.
- Check theCodein the proprietor's details to verify this client record is the same as the record linked to from Personal, Business and Trust Tax.
