Error: Prerequisite MSOLEDBSQL failed to install in Personal Tax

You may get the following error message when installing Digita Personal, Business, and Trust Tax.

Prerequisite:

C:\Users\[username]\Downloads\DPT_20_0_15235\Updates\MSOLEDBSQL\msoledbsql_18.3.0.0_x64.msi failed to install (return value - 1603)

Apply any Windows updates available.

Disable your antivirus software live scanning feature, including automatic updates. You can enable these features after completing the installation.

Reboot your computer.

Try to install again.

If you still get the error message, try these steps to manually install the MSOLEDBSQL component.

If you have a server, go to the

\Personal Tax]\Nodeins\Updates\MSOLEDBSQL\

folder on the server.

If you don't have a server, go to the installation download. Right-click to extract the ZIP file.

Run the appropriate MSI file for your Windows installation (32 or 64 bit) and follow the instructions in the wizard.

If you are prompted, reboot your computer or the server.

Select Finish

Install the program.
