Opening computation causes Personal Tax to crash without a warning
Scenario
Personal Tax may crash without a warning when opening a computation.
Cause
This issue is caused by spousal link working incorrectly.
You can check it by:
Opening the record and checking if there is spouse folder available, within
Information Explorer
menu.
If yes, right-click it and select
Open Spouse Client
.
Check if newly opened spouse record also has a spouse folder available in
Information Explorer

Solution
If the affected client record
is not
connected with Digita Practice Management (DPM):
Right-click the
Spouse
folder and select
Break from spouse

is
connected with DPM:

Client Details
in DPT, then select
Edit
.
DPM will open, go to the
Contacts
tab, then
Personal relationships
section.
Select the spouse, then select
delete
. Select
save and close
.
DPM will close, select
OK
to close the
Client details
tab in DPT. If prompted, apply changes from the integration icon.
Check if spouse folder is removed from
Information Explorer
.
If still available, go to
File
close
File
disconnect clients
and go through the process of disconnecting client from DPM.
When disconnecting is done, open DPT record for affected client and right-click the
Spouse
folder in Information Explorer menu.
Select
Break from spouse
.
Open a computation to check its behaviour.
