Convert a Sole Trade to Business Tax business if Integration is used in Personal Tax

Before you convert a sole trade to a business tax business, you'll need to have a full 12-month accounting period for the client.

If you intend to convert the sole trade to a business tax business in preparation for a conversion to a partnership, you'll also need a full 12-month accounting period as a business tax business, so consider carefully which accounting period you need to convert.
  1. Disconnect the client from Integration:

    File
    , then
    Close
    to close the client.
  3. Select
    File
    , then
    Disconnect Clients
    .
  4. Select the client, then select
    OK
    .
  5. Convert the client from a sole trade to business tax business:
  6. Select
    Edit
    , then
    Schedule Editor
    .
  7. Select
    Sole Trade
    , then
    Edit
    .
  8. Select the sole trade, then select
    Convert
    .
  9. Enter the first accounting period you want to process for the client as a business tax business.
  10. Integrate the client with Practice Management:
  11. Select
    File
    , then
    Close
    to close the client.
  12. Select
    File
    , then
    Share Clients
    .
  13. Select the client, then
    OK.
  14. Select
    Finish
    .
