Error: VC Runtime is required when installing or updating Digita Suite

Scenario

You may get the following error message when you install or update a Digita application.
Error message
VC 20[
XX
] Runtime is required. Setup will now terminate.

For information about Visual Studio and the Visual C++ Redistributable that installs Microsoft C and C++ (MSVC) Runtime libraries, refer to Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable latest supported downloads on Microsoft's website.

Cause

The Digita installer is trying to install Runtime but is unable to.

Solution

We recommend that a competent IT person installs and updates the Digita Suite applications.
  1. Check that you've followed the guidelines in the Digita Professional Suite Network and Standalone Installation Guide.
  2. Go to the
    Updates
     folder.
    note
    • For Workstation Node installs, go to the server application
      Nodeins
       folder, then open the
      Updates
       folder.
    • For Standalone/Network Installs, go to the
      Updates
       folder in the install download.
  3. In each
    VS20XX_x86
     folder:
    1. Run
      vc_redistx86.exe
      .
    2. Repair or install as directed.
