Fix Amyuni PDF Converter Error code 30/Error code 5: Failed to lock the printer driver or Printer not activated for Digita Suite

On occasion, usually as a result of a Microsoft update, the third-party Amyuni PDF Converter included with Digita applications may need to be reinstalled to ensure its continued operation. The following reinstallation procedure will work most of the time for Digita applications installed on your local machine.
  1. Close down all Digita applications.
  2. Select the following link to open it, or cut and paste it into your internet browser: https://productdownloads.digita.com/digitavarious/PDFConverter.zip (downloads a compressed
    PDFConverter.zip
     file, 39.4 MB).
  3. Select
    Save As
     if prompted by your browser and select a folder location of your choice (some browsers may save the file immediately their Download folder).
  4. When the download has been completed, open Windows File Explorer and navigate to the location of the downloaded PDFConverter.zip folder.
    The PDFConverter.zip folder must be unzipped by extracting the compressed files for this procedure to work. If you open the folder before extracting the files and then right-click the PDFConverter.bat file, the pop-up menu will not display the Run as administrator option.
  5. Right-click on the PDFConverter.zip folder name and select
    Extract All.
  6. Select
    Browse
     to choose a location for the unzipped files, then select
    Extract
    .
  7. Right-click on the
    PDFConverter.bat
     file and select
    Run as administrator
     from the pop-up menu.
    The Run as administrator option will not appear in the pop-up menu unless you have a Windows Administrator account.
  8. In the
    User Account Control
     dialog box, select
    Yes
    .
  9. In the
    Windows Command Prompt window
     wait until the script has executed and the screen prompts you to '
    Press any key to continue...
    ', then press any key and wait for the
    Command Prompt window
     to close automatically.
    The screen may appear to be inactive after you press a key, but it's crucial to wait for the script to finish and the window to close, which may take several minutes. In cases where these instructions alone do not resolve the issue first try rebooting your machine to see if that fixes the issue. If not try removing the Amyuni printer direct from 'Control Panel > Devices and Printers' first. Within 'Devices and Printers', right click on 'Digita PDF Converter 45', select 'Remove Device'. Then do the same for 'Digita PDF Converter 60'.
To re-install the PDF Converter, continue following the instructions above again. The Amyuni PDF Converter will enable you to
Export to file/PDF
 from within a Digita application, but not to
Print to PDF
. In some cases setting a physical printer installed locally to the computer can resolve an issue with Amyuni.
