  • Revoke access immediately if you suspect unauthorised use.
  • Monitor API usage through the built-in tracking tools.
  • Verify that the connector is enabled (check the + menu, the toggle should be blue).
  • Complete personal authorisation if this is your first time using the connector.
  • Fully restart Claude Desktop by quitting and reopening the application if you experience issues.
  • Confirm that your corporate firewall allows connections to the HighQ domain.

Troubleshooting

If you are experiencing issues with the HighQ MCP server, here are some common issues and solutions for HighQ MCP.
  1. HighQ connector not visible or enabled?
    • Ensure you're using Claude Desktop and have the correct role.
    • Check that the connector is enabled in Admin Settings > Connectors.
  2. Authentication fails?
    • Verify your HighQ credentials or SSO setup.
    • Clear browser cookies for the HighQ domain and try again.
    • Ensure your HighQ account is active and not locked.
  3. Connector shows 'Disconnected'?
OAuth tokens may have expired. Click Connect again to re-authenticate.
  4. Tools return errors or empty results?
Your HighQ account may lack permission for the requested data. Access is limited to what your account can view.
  5. MCP server URL not working?
    • Confirm the URL format with your HighQ administrator: https://[your-instance].highq.com/[site-name]/mcp.
    • Remove any trailing spaces or extra characters.
  6. Claude not using HighQ tools?
Reference HighQ data explicitly in your prompts (e.g., "Using my HighQ connection, …").
  7. Admin cannot see connector?
Ensure you have connector management permissions. If not, contact your Claude account manager.
  8. API rate limits exceeded?
Use the prompt "How many API calls have been used?" to check usage. For persistent issues, contact your HighQ admin.
