Tips for creating columns
Below are some tips to keep in mind when creating columns:
- If possible, keep the number of columns in an iSheet to 50 or less.
- The column name acts as a label for the column. Although column names can be virtually any length, if they are too long you will need to:
- vary the column width to accommodate the length of the column name, or
- be aware that part of the column name may not display
As an alternative to long column names, give each column a short name and enter a column description to provide context for users filling in iSheet items:
- Get the column type correct during creation. With only one exception (changing a single line text to multiple line text), column types may not be changed after a column has been created
- If you would like a column to have a default value, set that default value when you first create a new column. The value will be automatically populated as items are added
