iSheet templates overview

Any existing iSheet can be saved as a template by a System Administrator. A template allows site admins to deploy the structure and configuration of an iSheet, without any records. This allows site admins to avoid repetition and save time when building iSheets, as well as create consistency in the solutions built in your Collaborate instance. Additionally, template-deployed iSheets can be linked to the template, allowing for centralized management of their configuration.
Saving an iSheet as a template preserves the following features of the source iSheet:
  • The main configuration of the iSheet
  • All columns and their configurations
  • All views and their configurations
  • Any sections and the order of columns
  • Lookup columns are preserved in deployed templates but in most cases must be re-created if you wish to link to another source iSheet, as the lookup column source sheet is a configuration that cannot be changed once created
  • Join columns are preserved in deployed templates, but may need to be modified to point to the appropriate iSheet in the column list of sheet configuration, and the join condition updated, as needed
However, the template does not preserve the following:
  • Any customized permission settings (
    iSheet
    ,
    Views
    and
    Columns
    )
  • Document Automation templates associated with the iSheet
