You can import or update entities in bulk using Excel files. The import file adds new entities if the Entity ID doesn't already exist, or if changes were made to entities, they are updated based on their Entity ID.
To avoid a failed import, the file should contain the following columns:
Group/Single
Name
Short name
Legal Entity Type
Additional columns include:
Active?
Created By
Created Date
Entity ID
Entity Type
Last Updated By
Last Updated Date
My Access
Tax ID
Tax Regime
From the
Entities
tab in the Entity Manager module, select
Import
.
Locate the import file and then select
Open
. Data is validated upon import.
New entities and group are highlighted in yellow. Select
Save
to finish the import process.
If errors are encountered during the import, a window asks "Do you wish to view them?"
Select
Yes
and a
Save As
window opens.
Amend the name of the "errors" file (for example, "Entities_ImportErrors") and select
Save
.
Open the errors file. A column named "Errors" is added to the spreadsheet.
Correct the errors in the original import file and save it.
Import the updated file.
Fields in the import file that are populated from a dropdown menu or lookup list in the application must match exactly.
Group/Single
can't be updated by the import.
