Sundry DTA/DTL {BV }
(Company Tax)
An update has been named to 2.141 and above to resolve the previous issue where closing balance data from the trial balance were not flowing through to the Sundry DTA/DTL {BV} workpaper.
To ensure closing balances are mapped and displayed correctly, follow these steps:
Check account mappings for any line items using the Sundry DTA/DTL {BV} worksheet (such as “other current assets”).
  • Make sure that account codes are mapped to the ‘Closing balance’ target, not ‘Accounting values’.
The following steps may be required:
  • Upgrade calculations to the latest NextGen template version available.
  • In one calculation, delete the BV sheet, save changes, then reinsert the BV sheet.
  • In the mappings, click ‘refresh’. It may then be necessary to un-map and re-map GL accounts from ‘Accounting values’ to ‘Closing balance’.
  • Rerun the trial balance import. The closing balances should now appear correctly in the BV workpaper.

Content Set
Version
Business related costs {RFC}
(Company Tax)
(Affecting current migration calculations):
A new 'display tax only items' cell was introduced in version 2.141 to indicate whether this function was used in the prior year's business-related costs sheet in Classic.
The cell has been moved to column D and it is now a select tick option, review after upgrade.
PAYG Instalments {A24}
(Consolidated Company Tax)
Amounts paid in subsequent period has been updated to ensure sub-group amounts are correctly consolidating to the Group above.
Fixed Asset – Tax summary {C3}
(Company Tax)
The formula for label 9E has been updated to exclude the closing balance of capital work in progress. Previously it was excluding the addition column.
Fixed Asset – Tax summary {C3}
Fixed Assets – TEA Proof {C4}
(Company Tax)
Both of these sheets have had formulas updated to ensure no blank cells appear if the workpaper is not loaded.
Fixed Assets - Accounting {CA1- CA5 and C2}
(Company Tax)
There were duplicate line items for Trial balance data rolling forward in the Fixed assets workpapers. These were showing as a variance in Fixed assets – accounting – summary {C2}. These sheets have been updated to remove the duplicates. Fixed assets – accounting – summary {C2} now has a toggle - Display manual closing balance per GL.
For Trial balance data to update, the Trial balance import will need to be rerun.
Fixed assets – tangible – mining & exploration {CA3}
A new Trial balance target has been added for Rehabilitation. The target will appear in the mapping file after upgrade.
Accounts can now be mapped to this target so they appear in the control totals. Once you map to the target and apply the map or re-run the TB the amounts will appear in the category mapping block.
Exploration expenses {DF}
(Company Tax)
This has been updated to correct a duplication of the deduction in Current tax expense {T1} for the capitalised expenditure/immediate tax deduction.
Company Tax Return {RA}
{Manual forms}
Total revenue and capital losses carried forward in Losses schedule {RJ} now link to Company Tax Return {RA} Q13.
Trust Tax Return {RB}
{Manual forms}
Updated formatting for contact information, Area code, and telephone number
Current Tax {T1}
(Company Tax)
A new toggle has been added to drive the display of current tax payable/(refund). Row will be hidden by default.
Temporary difference analysis {T2X}
(Company Tax)
Unrecognised-carried forward cell has been protected for 'investments - wholly owned subsidiaries non-current' and 'intangibles - internally generated goodwill' to stop values from being entered as they have no data flow impact.

NextGen to NextGen Roll forward - Additional information

This section outlines the key steps required to complete the roll-forward process.
Review these instructions carefully to ensure all necessary actions are taken. Following these guidelines will help you transition smoothly and avoid potential issues. If you have any questions or encounter any challenges during the roll-forward, our support team is available to assist you.
Ensure all calculations are on the current versions for AUC and AUS
prior to
rolling forward. Some older versions of Nextgen had roll-forward issues and may not roll forward correctly. If you believe the roll-forward hasn’t worked correctly try again after completing the following steps:
If calculations are on earlier versions, copy your dataset and use the Copied version to Roll-forward.
  1. Step 1: copy your prior period dataset and Upgrade the calculation.
  2. Step 2: In the Roll Forward calculation - Remove the prior period calculation source and replace with the copied and upgraded dataset.
For issues with TEA
  1. Step 3: Remove current period TEA – Save calculation.
  2. Step 4: Re-insert current period TEA, for Consolidated calculations ensure ALL TEA sub workpapers are reloaded.
  3. Step 5 Manage sources refresh - Refresh prior period.
Note the following items currently under investigation:
  • Statement of Taxable income {A}: The prior period comparative column might not roll forward all data.
  • Trading stock {BE}: Roll forward is not working when there is no tax value, has been resolved for future roll-forward years.
