Trade return information
Add and complete the Trade return information sheet in the SA800, selecting between standalone entry or detailed analysis via the Income statement.
When a partnership is carrying on a trade, you'll need to complete the relevant sections of the SA800.
Trading profits or losses are calculated on the
Trade return information
sheets, which contain all the necessary sheets to complete the trading sections of the return.
Due to the varying complexities of partnerships, you can enter the trade profits and losses 1 of 2 ways:
Directly in the trade, for example if there are a few transactions.
On the
Income statement
, if a fuller analysis based on existing accounts is required.
To add the
Trade return information
sheet (and other sheets relevant to calculating the trading profits or losses) into the navigator, select
Insert sheet
Business - Trade
.
The
Trade return information
sheet contains the relevant settings for the trade. Review these settings and complete them as required.
tip
By default the trade will be called
Trade 1
. Change the name to its correct name because it will be used to populate
Box 3.1
