You can set up activities to represent the different kinds of work your firm does. You can use activities as work codes for time and billing, and as categories of tasks for project tracking.

Activities and tasks

While activities are the kinds of work your firm does, tasks are specific items to be completed by assigned staff members. Connecting your tasks to activities will help you track and report work.

Activities and activity categories

Activity categories are broader groupings of activities. While an activity is a type of work, an activity category is a group of activities that share a characteristic (such as being billable). You should add your activity categories before adding your activities.
