Search for precedents

  1. Go to
    Browse Menu
    , and choose
    UK Practice areas
     or
    Global Practice areas
    .
  2. Select a practice area.
    note
    Practical Law sets the
    Search In
     box to your selected practice area.
  3. Enter search terms to find your precedent in the
    Search bar
    .
  4. In the
    Search Results
     page, turn on
    Select multiple
     filters.
  5. Select
    Resource Type
    , then mark the
    Standard documents and clauses
    ,
    Checklists
    , and
    Toolkits
     Filter checkboxes.
  6. Use the
    Practice Area
    ,
    Jurisdiction
    , and
    Sector
     filters to narrow your search.
  7. Select
    Apply
    .
  8. Refine your search terms and re-apply the filters if needed to narrow the results.
