IMMEX Search

To begin using the “IMMEX Search” screen
, choose a source from the “Choose Source” drop-down menu. This action updates the “Source Columns” to show all available fields.

Display fields

After a source has been determined, the next step is creating the data set. Any field listed in the “Display Columns” section will be added as a column header in the “Search” grid at the bottom of the screen.
Add a field to the “Display Columns” list
choosing one of the following options
:
  • Drag the field name from “Source Columns” to “Display Columns”.
  • Select the field name in “Source Columns” and use the single right arrow to move it.
  • Use the double right arrow to move all fields from “Source Columns” to “Display Columns”.
Reorder fields:
  • Rearrange the fields in “Display Columns” by dragging them or using the up/down arrows.
Move a field from the “Display Columns” list back to “Source Columns”:
  • Select the field and move it using the single left arrow. Selecting the double left arrow will move all fields back to “Source Columns”.
Change the order of the fields listed in “Display Columns”:
  • Select and drag the fields or use the up/down arrows.

Parameters

“IMMEX Search” makes it possible to search for a specific value or values within a dataset by adding parameters or functions.
Add new parameter:
  • Select “Add New Parameter” located below the “Source Columns” and “Display Columns” tables.
Define search parameters:
  • Search Parameter List:
    Choose from columns listed in “Display Columns”.
  • Comparison List:
    Select from available comparison options.
  • Value textbox:
    Enter the value you want to apply.
Apply or Cancel Changes:
  • Select “Insert” to add the parameter or
    “Cancel” to discard changes.
Modify existing parameters:
  • Select “Edit” to adjust an existing parameter. After making changes, select “Update” to save them.
Delete parameters:
  • Select “Remove” to delete an existing parameter.

Functions

Functions work similarly to parameters but are used for mathematical calculations. Functions can be added in conjunction with a parameter. Multiple parameters and functions may also be added to one search. ####
Available functions for numeric columns:
Sum:
Calculates the total of the values.
Mean:
Computes the average of the values.
Count:
Tallies the number of entries.
Add a function:
  • Select “Add New Function”.
Choose a column and function:
Columns:
Select from fields in the Display Columns table.
Function:
Choose one of the available functions (Sum, Mean, Count).
Apply the function:
  • Select “Insert” to apply the chosen function to the selected column. The result will appear in the “Result column” next to the Function list.
important
If you attempt to apply a function to a non-numeric column, an error message will appear.
