Permits
IMMEX can be used to maintain any number of Rule 8 and COFEPRIS (health) permits. A permit is active only in the context of an import. Since IMMEX does not use pending or expired permits, only active permits may be used. A permit is considered active if it:
- Is greater than the Effective Date and
- Less than or equal to the Expiration Date
IMMEX will start with the oldest permit in the system and determine if the permit has a balance quantity large enough to satisfy the import. Although there is no requirement to import the entire quantity listed on a permit, imports cannot exceed what was originally authorized on the permit.
