Error: The field 'ForeignCorpQualifiedDate' with value '[ENTERED_VALUE]' data format is not correct

This e-file validation error occurs when the date qualified in state for Kentucky isn't in the required YYYY-MM-DD format.

Validation failed on [FILE_ID]: Form: Form720[1] SchQ[1]/ForeignCorpQualifiedDate[1] Description: If a foreign corporation enter the date qualified to do business in Kentucky LineNumber: 2 Requirement: Base type for a date Error: The field 'ForeignCorpQualifiedDate' with value [XX/XX/XXXX], data format is not correct. Element Name: ForeignCorpQualifiedDate XPath: /ReturnState[1]/ReturnDataState[1]/Form720[1]/SchQ[1]/ForeignCorpQualifiedDate[1] XML Fragment: 02/03/2021 Field Key: 120,22,6,0,0,0,0,0,0 Error Code: [CODE] Error Reason: Error parsing 'XX/XX/XXXX' as date datatype. The element '{http://www.irs.gov/efile}ForeignCorpQualifiedDate' with value '02/03/2021' failed to parse.

Solution

  1. Go to
    Organizer
    States
    Common State
    General Information
    Basic Return Information
    Entity Information tab
    .
  2. Go to the row for Kentucky.
  3. In
    Column I - Date qualified in State
    , enter the date in YYYY-MM-DD format (for example, 2021-02-03).
    note
    Don't use MM/DD/YYYY or YYYY/MM/DD format.
  4. If the entity isn't a foreign corporation, remove the date from
    Column I - Date qualified in State
    for Kentucky.
  5. Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.
