Carla Jones is presently the Chief of Staff to the CEO for Thomson Reuters. Carla leads the management of the office of the chief executive including executive communications, development of annual operating rhythm and mechanisms, corporate calendar, administrative staff, agenda setting and prioritization as required in support of the long-term vision of the Company. She oversees executive interactions with the Thomson Reuters Board of Directors and facilitates cross-functional / cross-business initiatives in the areas of strategy, corporate development, customer and employee engagement. She also leads the Social Impact and philanthropic efforts for the Company.
Previously, Carla was the Senior Vice President of Communications for the Professional division of Thomson Reuters. In this role, Carla was responsible for the development and delivery of a robust communications plan to include division-wide strategic internal and external messaging, positioning and thought leadership. She also partnered with the marketing and communications teams across the businesses to bring together existing resources to accomplish a cohesive communications plan in areas such as globalization, the development of our targeted news services and other collaborative cross-group initiatives.
In the 22 years Carla has been with Thomson Reuters in addition to providing project
management, organizational and analytical leadership for the Company’s CEO and his
senior management team, she played an integral part in the integration of Reuters,
acquired in 2008. Prior to this assignment, she was the VP, Office of the CEO for
Thomson Corporation and also Director of Financial Planning for Thomson Newspapers until the completion of its sale process in 2000.
Carla holds a bachelors degree in Accounting and Finance from Eastern New Mexico
University. She sits on the Board of BuildOn, a nonprofit agency that empowers youth
through education. She resides in Connecticut with her husband and two sons.
