Mark Sandham is Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Human Resources for Thomson Reuters, which employs 53,000 people in 100+ locations. In this role, he is responsible for developing and executing key strategic initiatives to increase the organization’s effectiveness and managing a number of core operational HR activities across Thomson Reuters.
Mark has played a key role in a number of major change and cultural initiatives in the transformation of Thomson Reuters following Jim Smith’s appointment as CEO in 2012.
Additionally, Mark was instrumental in the integration of Thomson and Reuters, leading the organizational change and people implications.
Prior to joining the organization in 2001, Mark spent a number of years with the Royal Bank of Scotland / NatWest where he started as a “management trainee.” At NatWest, he had several senior roles in both the HR function as well as line business management with P&L responsibility. Mark also led large change management and transformation programs, including the re-engineering of the HR function and the Global IT function.
Mark is a fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development and the Chartered Institute of Bankers, where is he also a past president of the City of London Centre. He holds an MBA.
